Crowns, COVID and Christmas, Oh MY!

Posted .

So, we finally got here, folks.  2020 will be very soon in our rearview mirror (thank goodness).  Bové Dental is still standing, despite nearly 11 weeks of being closed (but I still saw emergencies), and the myriad of problems that come with a pandemic.  Not to mention the health-related, emotional, and financial and other issues we all dealt with (and still are), but I just wanted to reiterate a couple of things to you before we ring in 2021…

-The COVID-19 virus is not under control yet: Yes, the vaccine is coming, but until then, we have to continue to be vigilant, careful and considerate.  This includes the continued use of masks, hand sanitizers, minimizing socializing outside of your immediate “pod” of family and friends, and don’t let COVID fatigue drop your defenses. We’re almost there.

-Life is and will continue to go on: This year, at least for me, has been a year of incredible challenge and change, as I know it has been for many of you. But the old saying holds true, “Bumpy roads lead to beautiful destinations”.  Let’s learn from this life-changing event.  We all have many new things to learn.

-You may ask, “Why does he spout all of this?” It’s because it has reaffirmed to me that our health care, including dental care, is more important than ever!  Some patients have put off their routine dental cleanings and exams and sometimes even necessary dental needs because of fear, sudden lack of finances or both.  But I can assure you that we are here not only to provide great dental services but to be a trusted and dependable place for you to come, so please know that we “have your back”.

-Yes, we are doing all of the things to protect you and us as well: Covid-19 questionnaires, temperature checks, more disposable items, HEPA air filters, constant cleaning and sanitizing, social distancing — the list goes on and on.  We’ve been doing this since March of 2020, so we’re pretty good at it!

As we look forward to the rest of the holidays, be well, take care, and remember that 2021 is a great opportunity to take care of yourself, better even than you might have in the past.  Let’s be healthy together!
